Sorry about the silence, but I was busy making noise...
Sept 5th, 2007
At long last I've flung myself head long into my second artist album. Gated/limited for years by my technical knowledge of synthesizers and drum machines, I've finally educated myself to a point where I'm limited more or less, by my own imagination. That's not to say that I know all, but I now know enough to be more than dangerous.
Recently I have armed myself with a battery of new synths both hardware and software, followed by the odd drum synth to help me produce the kinds of records I've always dreamed of producing. I'm thankful to say that the process has been going SO well so far. The ideas are flowing and the arrangements are taking shape. I have various pieces close to completion and have other ideas littering the studio floor just itching to be incorporated into the next track. All in all, I'm happy and having fun like never before!
Unfortunately I'm not ready to share any of the material I'm producing as it will get an official release in the near future. I'm afraid you're all going to just have to be patient for now. I am willing to discuss how it's been going and what I've been producing. I can also share with you the new gear I've invested in. Incidentally, those of you in the music biz in need of early white label releases, please let me know and I'll add you to the list of initial mail outs.
The material I'm working on has a variety of different influences, there will be a straight up piano track on the album, some ambient, some progressive and some trance tracks. I'm running the whole gamut right now. Of late, I seem to be producing more progressive trance tracks and for the near future that looks to be where the temperature gauge is going to stay.
On the gear front I recently picked up, Vanguard, Nexus, Slayer2, Instajuggle and Battery 3 to name just a few of the top software plugins. On the hardware front it's the MiniMoog leading the small and inexpensive keyboard category and the latest addition to the studio, the Juno 106 made in 1984. A classic keyboard that was very much responsible for many of the records that inspired me to get into this scene in the first place.
So, now you all know what I've been up to. I've received numerous emails and calls requesting more frequent updates to the Blog. I wish I could say that will happen in the near future but I can't. I have a lot going on right now. The writing process in and of itself is very much a loner activity. Creation in isolation works best for me. Being a recluse right now is what I need. When I'm done, I'll be sure to share it with you all ... look on the bright side, after waiting for more than 2 years you'll all be able to hear from me and now just read ...
Thanks for tuning in, speak soon...
